How installation works

A fixed home battery or EV charger has to suit the meter cupboard (the "meterkast" in Dutch homes), the cable route and the mounting location. That is why installation starts with a short check. After that you know whether a fixed package fits or whether a tailored quote is the wiser option.

Checking the situation first

We ask for photos of the meter cupboard, the intended location and the route between them. If there is any doubt, a site survey follows. That is mainly needed for long cable routes, water in the crawl space, heavy digging work or a connection above 63 A. A system above 10 kW always goes through a quote.

A survey prevents discussion at the door. If the check shows that the home is not suitable for the chosen package, you receive a different proposal first.

The meter cupboard and three-phase

The consumer unit (fuse box) must be three-phase or prepared for it. If it is not yet, the installer can adapt the meter cupboard with phase distribution, a three-phase main switch and the required RCD protection. The exact package contents differ between a battery and an EV charger.

The grid connection outside the meter cupboard is modified by your grid operator. You request that yourself via mijnaansluitingen.nl. We cannot complete that step on your behalf.

What the fixed packages cover

The basic package for a home battery inside the home includes up to 10 metres of supply cable, 10 metres of data cable, 5 metres of surface-mounted conduit and 5 metres of digging or paving work. The extended package doubles those lengths to 20, 20, 10 and 10 metres. Both apply up to and including 10 kW.

For an EV charger you choose based on the location. Directly on the outside wall, up to 5 metres of supply route is included. A wall package covers up to 10 metres. The package for a charging post or a longer route covers up to 20 metres and includes up to 5 metres of digging or paving work.

Additional work goes on the work order

Extra cable, extra digging, additional components and work outside the package description are billed afterwards at cost. The installer records this on the work order. You sign that work order, so it is clear afterwards which work fell outside the package.

Sounds strict, but it is fairer than a low package price that doubles after installation. If a fixed package does not fit, we would rather prepare a quote up front.

Warranty after installation

The installation is carried out to the Dutch NEN 1010 and NEN 3140 standards. The installation work is covered by a two-year installation warranty. The product warranty on the battery or charger runs through the manufacturer and is separate from the warranty on the installation work.

What do you arrange yourself?

The battery or charger must be at the agreed location, together with the supplied parts and technical documentation. Also make sure the meter cupboard and cable route are accessible. You arrange any change to the grid connection yourself with the grid operator.
