Halo 3 kWh plug-in battery

The HYXi Halo HYX-MS3000AC is an AC-coupled plug-in battery for a single-phase connection. Its main unit stores 3.0144 kWh and works independently of the brand of your existing solar inverter.

How does the 3 kWh Halo work?

The battery charges from the AC grid and supplies stored energy to the home. Standard on-grid output is 800 W. HYXi states that its premium setting up to 1,500 W may only be enabled when local rules allow it and authorised personnel perform the change.

Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and the HYXi app provide monitoring. The LiFePO4 cells are rated for at least 10,000 cycles at 25 °C, measured to 60% remaining capacity.

Expansion later

Up to five HYX-MS3000B packs can be stacked below the main unit. Total storage can reach 18.0864 kWh. With at least one pack attached, maximum system charging and discharging power increases to 3,000 W. This is different from the standard 800 W on-grid output.

Installation and meter

A 3 metre AC cable is included. The P1 meter and external grounding materials are not. A P1 meter supports most DSMR 5.0 and 4.0 meters. DSMR 4.0 updates every ten seconds and requires a separate power supply.

An honest limitation: HYXi uses the term plug-in, while the official manual requires installation and grounding by a qualified technician. This is not the right model if you want to place a battery without a technical check.
