Which LV battery module suits you?
Low-voltage modules work at a lower voltage per unit, which makes them a better match for older or simpler hybrid inverters. If your system has been in place for a few years, an LV module is more likely to connect to it than an HV model. For most households up to 10 kWh, the efficiency difference with HV is negligible.
When to choose LV, and when not?
Choose LV if you have an existing inverter that does not support HV, or if your system stays small, up to around 8 kWh. Do not choose LV if you are working towards a large system of 15 kWh or more with a heat pump and an electric car on top, because you will sooner run into the practical limits of more cabling and slightly higher losses. In that case, high-voltage is often the wiser route.
What should you look out for?
With larger systems, above 15 to 20 kWh, you run into practical limits sooner with LV: more cabling, slightly higher losses. If you plan to expand significantly, high-voltage is often the better choice. Here too, check beforehand that your inverter supports the brand you choose, because brand lock-in applies to LV as well.
The honest catch: LV is not the budget version of HV, it is a different design with a different strength. For an average household, LV is often just as suitable and sometimes more widely usable than HV, so don't be swayed by the idea that a higher voltage is automatically better.
What do we take care of?
Sharp pricing, certified installation to the Dutch NEN 1010 standard, and a dynamic energy contract through our partner if you want one. No lock-in. With net metering in the Netherlands ending in 2027, it pays to look now at what fits your existing installation.
Frequently asked questions
Does an LV module work with every hybrid inverter?
No, brand pairing applies to LV as well. An LV module from one brand won't simply work with another brand's inverter, so always check this before you order.
Is LV suitable for a large household?
Up to around 10 kWh it's fine. Beyond that, high voltage often becomes more practical because you need fewer cables and lose less through them. We advise based on your consumption.
Can I convert an LV system to HV later?
Not without a new inverter. The voltage levels are not interchangeable, so in practice converting means a new system.
Which LV brands do you stock?
GoodWe and Huawei, among others, offer LV modules. Each product page lists which inverters it is compatible with.
