18.6 kWh Home Battery with Hybrid Inverter, Single-Phase

This is the size for an average family: a terraced or detached home with around ten to twelve solar panels, cooking on gas or induction, no heat pump. In the evening you can then run largely on your own power instead of exporting for next to nothing.

The datasheet for the 9.3 kWh module names the S5 as an inverter with which up to four modules may be combined. With two units you stay well below that, so in terms of power and warranty this is a combination AlphaESS itself endorses.

The price is the inverter plus two battery modules, rounded down. Sourcing them separately costs the same, this package only saves you the legwork.
