9.3 kWh Home Battery with Hybrid Inverter, Single-Phase

This package is the entry size in the AlphaESS SMILE-G3 range for single-phase connections: the 5 kW S5 inverter with one 9.3 kWh battery module underneath. The inverter manages both the solar panels and the battery, so you do not need a separate conversion system.

At 9.3 kWh you are at the lower end of what we still consider useful for a home with solar panels. Suits a small household without a heat pump and without an electric car, where the evening peak mainly consists of cooking and lighting. Add a car later, or a heat pump, and you will quickly bump into the limit here.

AlphaESS states in the datasheet for this battery module which inverters it can be combined with and in what numbers. The S5 is listed there for up to four modules, so this combination of inverter and battery is not something we came up with ourselves.

What you pay is the inverter and the battery together, rounded down. So you pay no more than if you had ordered both separately, but you do not have to work out yourself whether they match.
