Power Sensor single-phase

A SigenStor controls itself based on what's happening at your grid connection. That information has to come from somewhere, and that's this little box in the meter cupboard.
How it works in practice
The current clamp fits around the phase conductor of your connection. The module reads how much is coming in or going out and sends that via RS485 to the Energy Controller. If it sees a surplus, the battery charges. If it sees a draw, it discharges. Without that measurement the system still works, but blind, and then your battery does things at moments that don't gain you anything.
What the unit is
A module for a 35 millimetre DIN rail with a display, plus one current clamp on a cable of one metre. The clamp measures up to 100 amps. Values are refreshed ten times a second. Sigenergy states an accuracy of 1 percent on power.
Also useful with a charge point
If a Sigen EVAC charge point is connected to the system, it uses the same measurement to dynamically scale back. The charging current then adapts to what's still free under your main fuse at that moment. Without a sensor the installer has to set a fixed limit, and you also charge slowly at moments when there's plenty of room.
What to watch for
This is the single-phase version with one current clamp. If you have three phases in the meter cupboard, you need the 3-phase version with three clamps. Measuring on one phase and multiplying by three gives you the wrong picture.
The module is IP20 and belongs in an enclosed distribution board. Fitting happens in the meter cupboard and is work for a certified installer. If the meter cupboard is far from the inverter, ask about the wireless set Sigenergy offers for that.
