What determines the price?
Not the charger brand, but the distance to your meter cupboard. If the charger goes on the wall right next to the meter cupboard, it is a quick job. If a cable has to run through the garden to a pole at the driveway, there is excavation work and a lot more cable involved, which roughly doubles the amount. That is why with us you choose the location, not a package: wall near the cupboard, wall further away, or a pole.

Load balancing is not an add-on
An 11 kW charger draws as much as about five kettles running at once. Switch it on while the oven and tumble dryer are running, and without a safeguard your main fuse trips. Load balancing measures what the rest of your house is using and scales back charging whenever needed. At night it simply charges at full power again. That is why we include it as standard and do not sell it as an option.
Single-phase or three-phase
On single-phase you charge at up to around 3.7 kW, on three-phase up to 11 or 22 kW. For someone who charges at home overnight and drives a normal daily distance, single-phase is often plenty: in eight hours it already delivers more than an average day's driving costs. If you drive a lot or need the car topped up quickly in between, three-phase is worth it. If you currently have single-phase and want to move to three, that means an application with your grid operator plus work in your meter cupboard. We offer that separately.
A site survey first
We look beforehand at your meter cupboard, the route to the chosen spot, the type of connection and the space for an extra circuit. That way you know what to expect before the installer arrives. If something turns out to be needed that is not in the package, you will hear about it at that point.
What is not included?
Re-paving after excavation work, making your meter cupboard suitable for three-phase, replacing an outdated consumer unit, and work that requires scaffolding. Additional work is billed afterwards at cost and only after a signed work order. There is two years' warranty on the installation work. We work throughout the Netherlands, except the Dutch Wadden Islands.
What we take care of
Supplying the charger, planning the survey, a certified installer connecting it to the Dutch NEN 1010 standard. Frequently asked questions
Can I connect an EV charger myself?
No, that is work on your consumer unit and belongs with a certified installer. With most manufacturers, the warranty is also voided if the charger has not been demonstrably connected by a qualified professional.
How long does the installation take?
On the wall usually half a day. With excavation to a pole in the garden a full day, sometimes with an extra day for the paving.
Does the charger work together with my solar panels?
With most chargers, yes, with the right metering it then charges from your surplus. Which mode you can choose differs per brand, that is on the product page.
Do I need to register the charger?
A regular home charger does not need separate registration. If you upgrade your connection to three-phase, that does go through the grid operator and you apply for that yourself.
Can I move the charger later?
Technically it is possible, but it is installation work again with a new cable route. So choose the location with a few years ahead in mind, including if a second car might join later.
